Dudley Randalls Ballad of Birmingham is a disturbing and gloomy characterisation of snow-clad American hatred and racist beliefs towards blacks, a effeminate parents fear and anguish while attempting to count for her scatty child and one of four three-year-old lives anomic of esteem (Davis 1993).
